We have aimed at flexibility for the student and can offer you either a complete course or a combination of separate short periods of 2 days minimum. Times are all subject to weather.
Professional training is conducted by CFI David Scouller assisted by the Old Sarum’s senior instructors. Your training will be on a Cessna 152, PA-28 or a PA34 Seneca. At Old Sarum we are able to offer FI training in tail wheel aircraft which we believe to be unique within the UK.
Privileges of a Flight Instructor (Restricted) Rating
The holder of an FI(R) Rating may give flying instruction to students training for a PPL, although there are certain restrictions regarding the authorisation of solo flight and cross country flying. These restrictions will be removed when the full Flight Instructors rating is gained.
Flight Instructor (Restricted) Course Pre-entry Requirements
JAR-FCL 1.335 states pre-entry requirements to commence an approved course of training for the issue of a JAR-FCL FI(R) rating. Applicants shall have:

The flight test will be based on the PPL Skill Test and will assess the ability of the applicant to undertake the course particularly with regard to aeroplane handling skills.
