The Old Sarum Flying Club

Founded in 1992, Old Sarum Flying Club is a thriving 600-member club located on the outskirts of the cathedral city of Salisbury. The club operates from Old Sarum Airfield, the UK’s second oldest operational aerodrome.

The club operates 17 aircraft for training or hire including Cessna 152s, Piper Warriors, Arrows, Bulldogs, Seneca, Sky Arrows, C42's and Flex-Wing Microlights. We employ over twenty flying instructors both full and part-time.

Old Sarum Flying Club welcomes its members and visitors to their special events, talks, flying competitions, fly outs and social gatherings. The club has a pilot shop offering charts, accessories, clothing and books and other aviation related items. There is a licensed bar and restaurant on site serving home cooked food which is open 7 days a week.

Members and visitors are provided with a briefing area where they have access to the latest weather and Notams together with Internet access. Our operations people are always on hand to assist with flight planning and have a wealth of local knowledge useful to visiting pilots.

Conveniently located some 10 minutes flying time from the south coast, Old Sarum Flying Club is an ideal location from which to enjoy visits to the Isle of Wight, France and the Channel Islands.

There are a number of interesting places to visit in the local area including the City of Salisbury and world famous, Stonehenge, only a short bus or taxi ride. Old Sarum Castle (English Heritage) is within walking distance. For pilots wishing to stay overnight there are a number of good, local Bed and Breakfasts and hotels.
